Pinpoint has engineered a new way of looking at websites. With C² (C Squared) we have developed a dynamic and personalisable web site platform that intuitively provides the user with the information they want.

In building this platform we have recognised that:

  • A corporate website is not just an add-on to a business but is an integral part of its core business strategy.
  • Traditional websites offer the user a structural and hierarchical view of the company only. This is not always useful.  has a 3D model of the content allowing the user various intuitive ways of finding relevant content.
  • The general trend for the future is for websites to be personalisable and intuitive. The user should be able to get to exactly the information they want quickly and easily. They should also be able customise their view and experience of the website.

How it works:
Through the use of customer profiling and personalisable widgets and a 3D content model we present the user with the information they need quickly and easily on their own dashboard. This can be easily customised further by the user and their preferences will be saved for next time they visit.

C² websites feature:
  • Customer profiling
The  architecture allows for multiple profiles for corporates to offer different initial dashboard views to their different customer groups. The initial user selection of a profile can be achieved by a landing page on the website that offers the user various profile options for their dashboard eg: business executive, financial services provider, individual client, student etc. The user can change their Profile and the Widgets on their dashboard at any time by using the "Customise" option.
  • Dashboard
The personalisable dashboard becomes the user's own home page. They can customise this page so that it has all the information they need. To return to the dashboard they can click on the corporate logo on the top of any page.
  • Dragable widgets
On the dashboard the user can drag the widgets around. They can click on the header bar of the widget, and drag and drop it somewhere else. The widgets can also be minimised them and maximised. They can also be closed and will then appear in the "parking zone" on the right. These widgets can be dragged back onto the dashboard as and when necessary. Various kinds of widgets are provided. Eg: abstracts, images, promo ads, weather feed, latest news, RSS feeds, polls, video player etc.
  • Parking zone
On the right hand side of the dashboard is the parking zone. Recently closed widgets will appear here and can be dragged back onto the dashboard.
  • Personalisation
The profiled dashboard becomes the user's own home page that they can customise further so they always have the information they want at your finger tips. This can be done through the "Customise" link on the dashboard. Any changes will be automatically reflected on the dashboard. The user's settings will be remembered for the next time they come back.
  • Quick links
On the left hand side of every page are fully configurable icons that allow quick access to useful information and links.
  • Quick tabs
At the bottom of every page is an optional tabbed menu that provides a "traditional" hierarchical view of the website and allows an overview of, and quick access to, all parts of the website.
  • Advanced search
On the right hand side there is a search facility to find any content on the site. The search page also includes an advanced search option allowing the user to search for specific kinds of items with optional keywords. The search results can also be sorted by clicking on the column heading.
  • Content Pages
Most links on the site will click through to content detail pages. These pages provide the full content, plus optional related items, optional "parent" and "child" items, attachments, media, video player etc. There is also space on this page for a Promo Ad widget.
  • Related items
On the right hand side of each content page are useful references to all relevant items on the site. Icons will show what kind of content it is.
  • Multimedia content
can handle all types of media and content, viz: html, xhtml, xml, video (flv), audio (flv), documents (pdf, MS word), images (jpg, gif, png), etc.
  • Browser compatibility
has been designed and tested to work on most common browsers, including: Firefox, IE, Opera, Safari, Chrome on PC and Mac.
  • Architecture
uses a classic n-tiered Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), with a number of separate silos, viz:
    1. Front End Silo: to handle the user interface, preferences, logins, roles, dashboard, content display etc.
    2. Content Silo: login and role based Content Management System (CMS) for maintaining all content on the site.
    3. Media Streaming Silo: for the storage, indexing, searching and streaming of all multi-media content eg: images, documents, images, video, audio etc.
    4. Communications (CRM) Silo: handle all inbound and outbound communications with website users and clients. These can be templated / mail merged items sent via various channels eg; email, SMS, MMS

  • Other features:
    •  is fully driven and configured by meta data in the database.
    • The CMS has full control over all content and media and is login and role based.
    • All content items can follow an approval process before going live on the website
    • The content can also be fully multi-lingual (multi-cultural)

  • Platform
Microsoft C#, ASP.Net, MS SQL Server, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, Web services
